The nursery quickly became my favorite room in the house as it was started from scratch with a clear vision. I always start with a Pinterest board to of inspiration and products to make sure things stay cohesive. Our nursery is not large, so we also had to ensure every item in it served a purpose and was space efficient.
This photo from Quadrille was my initial color inspiration for the room.

I personally love blue, and also loved that I could had some pink accents for some girly flare that I could repurpose with darker navy accents if we ever wanted to repurpose the room for a boy.
This was our starting place:

We had only lived in our home a couple years and we were still working on improvements, so which each room that is tackled it always ends up being more than simply furniture/decor. Some initiatives we took on after cleaning out the room while it was empty:
- Removing popcorn ceiling
- Replacing dated light fixture
- Removing old phone/alarm wires from the room
- Updating closet fixtures
- Painting the closet a pink accent color
The End Result

Products We Used:
- Pottery Barn Emerson Crib: Loved that this was a simple basic crib. I felt like it could be made more masculine or feminine, modern or classic based on the surrounding room.
- Pottery Barn Dresser: We would have done the Emerson Dresser in wide except it was backordered. We ended up doing a similar version with a topper that worked just as well.
- Pottery Barn Modern Spindle Side Table: It took a while to ship, but this side table later when next to the chair.
- Pottery Barn Rug: I believe this was the rug, but they may not make the light blue color any more. I felt like the rug really tied the room together. It does get dirty over time – we are long overdue for a cleaning!
- Pottery Barn Merced Swivel Glider: This was a hand me down, but a couple things we loved about it and would consider if buying new is that it has a tall back for men to also be able to rest their head, and it is wide enough to stash plenty of supplies (or later a toddler!) in the chair as well.
- Basset Mirror: This was something we already had and is since discontinued.
- Gray Malin Lama with Pink Balloons Photo: We got this photo in the smallest size to add some fun and hint of pink! It has been a great hit as we later read the ‘Lama Lama’ Books.
- Lynn Chalk curtains using Quadrille China Seas Fabric: This was our biggest splurge by far, but for me it is what created the room!
- Babyletto Acrylic Bookcase: Love that this bookcase was a great space saver. We keep it at the end of the crib, or transfer it between rooms.
